Imagine if a mirrored image of you existed...

EUReKa is a show that contains a lot of futuristic technology. It is quite interesting because it presents a possibility of things that I wouldn't have ever imagined to exist. It makes me wonder, what if there was another person that looked exactly like me but was cloned? Do I want that to happen? It would be fun, but this person is an imposter, and they are taking my identity. They could use my identity to do illegal things, and I might have to pay for it. The possibility of twins and triplets will be countless !

However, I believe that the director not only wanted the viewers to see how technology is advancing, but I believe he or she wants us to think about the consequences of these inventions. In the scene when the wife passes away along with the husband, another woman, who is a mirrored imaged of the dead woman, makes an appearance and convinces the deputies that she isn't dead. This caused confusion amongst the authorities, so the director of this show wanted to show us that technology could result in negative consequences. It is considered a crime to be stealing another one's identity in our current society. In the future, there will many problems in which there needs a system to differentiate between the real and phony ones, and there needs to be guide lines and punishment for technology and such crimes.

The director of the show also blurs the lines of being a human. Yes, the imposter is able to do everything that the real person is able to do, but does that make he or she a human? My perception of being is a human is that you have to be naturally born. You can not be made through technology. Being made through technology is a clone, an imposter. Our depictions of the future reveals that the present is currently expanding in the science/technology field without much concern about the aftermath of it. We need to considered what happens if we do a certain thing. We are way too focused on discovering and expanding that we don't realize anything else.
